🚀 Let me show you some of my OPS-SAT Adventures 🌌
I'm pleased to share my experiences as a Mission Control Engineer at the European Space Agency, contributing to the OPS-SAT project. 🛰️
My role involves overseeing various aspects of mission control, starting with facilitating experiments on board to troubleshooting various technical challenges, both in space and on the ground. 🌠
Working alongside the exceptional team led by David Evans has been a fulfilling experience. We're all dedicated to keeping the OPS-SAT mission running smoothly. 🤝
During my first two months as an intern, I gained a deep understanding of the mission, took on responsibilities for onboard experiments, and had the privilege of capturing some incredible images using the onboard camera. 📸
🌄 New Zealand over Hakataramea Valley
The headline picture of this article shows an early morning view over New Zealand's coastline on the right and deep valleys on the left. New Zealand is renowned for its breathtaking landscapes, and the Hakataramea Valley is no exception, known for its rugged beauty and rich Maori heritage.
🏞️ New Zealand over Mount Ruapehu
A sunny morning shot featuring the snow-capped Mount Ruapehu and surrounding lakes (the header picture of this post). Mount Ruapehu is not only New Zealand's highest volcano but is also an active one, providing a glimpse into the geological wonders of this remarkable country.
🏔️ Poland over the Carpathian Mountains
An evening view of the Carpathian Mountains, with fog-filled valleys. Just outside the frame to the left, you'd find the High Tatras, with Rysy as its highest peak. Unfortunately, OPS-SAT didn't manage to capture it, but instead, we get this beautiful view of fog-filled valleys at its base.
🌊 Northern Poland, coast of the Baltic Sea
A grainy, post-sunset picture of the Baltic Sea coast in northern Poland. Just outside of the frame to the right, you would see the Hel peninsula and the Tricity metropolitan area. Instead, we get a view of the long coastline with a multitude of coastline lakes and Słowiński National Park which is home to the unique shifting sand dunes.
I'm looking forward to the next steps in this exciting adventure and the chance to keep you updated on my progress. 🚀🌍
Thanks to my colleagues at the European Space Agency (Vladimir Zelenevskiy, Sam Bammens, Adrián Calleja Vázquez, Marcin Kovalevskij, Rodrigo Laurinovics) and to all of you who've followed my journey so far. Let's continue exploring together! 🌟
